The Academy that year asked me to present the award to the winning actor on the TV show of this event. My hair was still in its shaven state, so a very clever Elizabethan cap was designed to cover all this up plus an appropriate dress of the period. It was quite a moment, appearing in front of “my town” for the first time in three years. The welcome I received that night was truly one of the great moments of my life. I felt one and all wanted me to know I had been missed and they were glad to have me back. (x)
